Gillbergasjön nature reserve
This is Värmland’s youngest nature reserve. The lake provides an interesting bird fauna, especially during spring and autumn. The surroundings offer good possibilities for a nice overview over the whole lake. Gillbergasjön became a nature reserve in 1986 to primarily protect the existing and regularly flooded meadows on the western side of the lake. The area is particularly important as a resting place for migrating birds but also a place to overwinter. The area is of international importance due to its large amount of teals and whooper swans that occur in this area.
